Data Science
At Carleton we welcome organizations and individual volenteers to help our Data Science students learn with realistic data.
Our Purpose
We intend to train our students by solving real word and practical problems.
Diversity
From your submissions, we will get data from diverse domains, which will train students for all kinds of datasets.
Better Learning
Your data will be helpfull for immersive learning experience. This way students will be industry ready.
Analytics
Students can work on multiple data visualization techniques which will enable them to design unknown data sets .
Ecosystem
Students will develop insights and ability to perform better while working in industry.
Success stories
We collabroate with the data donors with a streamlined and strategically planned approach.
Industry Collaboration with Lyticac : The streamlined methodology for creating and updating knowledge graphs offers a generalized approach to data management. By defining task-specific parameters, users can easily scrape data from the internet and train natural language processing models to extract relevant knowledge graph elements and relationships. This approach removes the complexity of available software frameworks, making it accessible to industry professionals and researchers who may not be familiar with specific tools.
Government Collaboration with Statistics Canada: This project collected public transit data from various sources in Canada and used it to comprehensively compare public transit offerings between provinces and across different geographic scales. Despite a systematic collection process, the majority of the cities lack official GTFS data, and some provinces are under or over-represented. The study proposed using the median of transit stop spatial density as a national baseline, revealing provinces such as Québec are severely lacking in public transit offerings. The results provide insightful information for understanding the current state and progress in urban public transportation, which is highly relevant to the United Nation’s Sustainability Development Goals.
Teaching approach
Your valuable contribution will embark our students with immense learning experience.
